Our Story
MedCline was founded in 2011 by Dr. Carl Melcher, a respected physician and former professor of medicine at the University of San Diego, after being diagnosed with Barrett's Esophagus, a potential precursor to esophageal cancer.
Convinced that positional therapy, applied correctly, could be a more natural and effective treatment option for reducing disease symptoms and relieving pain, he created his own patented solution: the MedCline Reflux Relief System.
Since then, the MedCline Shoulder Relief System, very similar in design, has been developed to meet the needs of people suffering from chronic shoulder pain at night.
We are convinced that restful, quality sleep is the basis of health and well-being, despite illness.

Because of the 10 to 20° angle created, those with herniated disks, compounded disks, bulging disks, fused vertebrae, scoliosis, or lumbar damage, arthritic hips, bursitis in the hips, or hip injuries often find it difficult to tolerate the angle that MedCline creates.

Tras varios días, probando el sistema, puedo decir que mi descanso ha mejorado considerablemente y tanto mi dolor de manguito rotador como mi reflujo gástrico ha mejorado considerablemente.

I was sceptical when I saw this at first, thinking that there must be tremendous lower-back pain coming from this. Nevertheless, I'm very happy with it. As a very wide-shouldered, tall and otherwise pretty slim sidesleeper, I've had shoulder pain for years due to too much pressure on them at night. Now I can sleep without complaints from either my shoulders or my lower back.
But mind you, turning around from one side to the other now becomes a main event that will definitely wake you up. Digging the one arm out from inside the system and inserting the other one without waking up the better half next to you takes some practice. I'm still ending up with better sleep overall, though, even with the waking periods.
Careful with the cooling cover, it makes the body pillow quite slippery. As a result, it doesn't support you as well on your back side (the stock satin covers are quite grippy). In winter so far, the little bit of extra warmth from the stock covers is actually really nice.
I really wish there was a way to make this more portable for travel, since I dread sleeping in normal beds now.

Cela a été la meilleure décision que j’ai prise récemment ! Très imposant et dormant sur le côté (sinon c’est pas drôle), je me réveillais 5 à 6 fois facilement à cause des douleurs aux épaules. Sachez que la différence s’est mesurée dès la première nuit ! Et quelle différence, je ne me réveille plus du tout de la nuit ! Donc mon avis est qu’il ne faut pas hésiter à essayer ! Cela mérite tout de même de prendre le temps de s’adapter à dormir de manière un peu différente mais vous ne serez pas déçu !

I was sceptical at first because I tried so many different pillows in my life to get rid of my shoulder and neck pain. But none worked so far. And then I gave this one a chance and I didn’t regret it. It really is a relief for my arms, shoulder and neck. They don‘t promise too much. It works.

Nach einem Monat Testing kann ich dieses Kissen mit voller Überzeugung empfehlen. Ich hatte bereits zuvor einen sehr guten Schlaf und Probleme, aber dieses Kissen hat das Ganze auf ein neues Level gebracht. Die steilere Liegeposition unterstützt, so mein Gefühl, den Kreislauf während der Nacht enorm. Mein Arm schläft nicht mehr ein, da das Kissen eine spezielle Schulterkuhle bietet, die den Druck optimal verteilt.
Der Stoff ist extrem weich und fühlt sich sehr angenehm auf der Haut an. Ein weiterer Pluspunkt: Es ist waschbar und behält dennoch seine Qualität. Nach einem Monat des Testens kann ich ehrlich sagen, dass dieses Kissen für mich ein absoluter Gamechanger ist. Wer seine Schlafqualität verbessern möchte, dem lege ich dieses Produkt ernsthaft ans Herz. 1A, einfach top!
